An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a woman at a gas station in Jacksonville’s Riverside neighborhood, the victim’s mother told News4Jax on Friday night.According to police, Sahara Barkley, 24, was shot and killed late Monday evening at a BP gas station on Stockton Street. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has not yet confirmed the arrest in the deadly shooting. But Barkley’s mother, Rozella Brooks-White, said Friday that a detective told her that an arrest was made in her daughter’s death. She said the detective did not give her the name of the person arrested. Brooks-White said that her daughter’s life revolved around her 1-year-old son and that she went to the Riverside gas station frequently because she lived a couple of blocks away. On Monday night, she was driving a rented silver Chevrolet Impala.Sources told News4Jax that Barkley parked and went inside the store to buy a pack of cigarettes and left her car running. A man and woman approached Barkley’s vehicle, and the man drove off in it, leaving the woman behind. When Barkley noticed the man driving off in her car, she confronted the woman. The source said that woman shot Barkley and took off. Barkley died at a hospital.
